In the present economic climate there has never been a better time to bag yourself a great second hand used car bargain. The trouble is, while there are some gems out there, how do you find them, and more importantly, what do you look for and what do you pay?

Over the years I have been fortunate enough to review hundreds of cars, and the reviews you will find here are just a small selection of them. More are being added all the time, so if you can't find what you're looking for, keep checking back.

Some of the reviews you will find here are a trip down memory lane, with cars (and values) for models dating back to 2000-2001!! I debated whether or not to remove them from the site but response has been good, so I hope you enjoy them in the same way I like flicking through motoring magazines from a decade ago. If nothing else, I always think it shows how our expectations of what we want from a car has increased.

Lots of factors contribute to the value of a second hand car - condition, age, specification and mileage.  But some used cars are worth less than others for less obvious reasons - perhaps a new model has been introduced making the out going car seem a little dated, or maybe a story in the press has caused customers to lose confidence. It could be something as simple as the offer of a big discount on a new car depressing the second hand values.

However, sometimes you’ll find that some really good cars are actually under valued. That’s bad news if you’re selling but good news if you’re buying. So amongst the reviews you'll find a few of my suggestions for cars that I reckon look like good value at the moment.
